Life drawing with Heather is getting more interesting as this week we were instructed to make tone and form the focal point of out sketches. Heather gave us the opportunity to use which ever media of our choice. I chose to use the charcoal rubout technique again to improve my understanding of highlights and shadows.
Additionally, life drawing with Jeff was more educative than practical this week as he had a review of our personal sketches as the there was no models to draw from. He analysed my sketches from my sketchbooks and me on advised of how I can improve my drawing skills. Jeff told me that it would be easier for me to portray human form if I were to envision the body structure as primitive shapes- cylinders, boxes etc. I am grateful for what I have learned from Jeff and have been practicing his teachings over the weekend. There is a lot that that an aspiring artist can learn from Jeff, he is very wise (… maybe too wise).
